Amanda Dipple makes sure that everyone has the best of the best when it comes to meals at Tricare Sunnybank Hills, especially now that Amanda has recently completed her Certificate III in Commercial Cookery with us at Work Skills. TriCare is an aged care facility that ensures a relaxing stay for all its residents.  This particular centre has been open for three years now and they pride themselves on offering fine dining, restaurant quality meals to their residents.

WELL TRAINED STAFF DELIVER GREATER RESULTS

TriCare is always focused on upskilling their staff in order to provide that more professional service to its residents. Amanda’s manager saw an opportunity for Amanda to grow in her hospitality career and offered her an apprenticeship to be trained through Work Skills.
“Work Skills have been handling the whole thing pretty well,” Amanda said. “I’ve got a really good relationship with my Trainer and he’s a huge help. He really helped me get different parts of my work organised and helped establish a clear direction on how to complete my work.”

SUPERIOR TRAINING DELIVERED IN THE WORKPLACE

Amanda said she found a lot of freedom in completing a qualification in her workplace, rather than going to TAFE organisations as she had done for other types of training in the past. “Work Skills really catered the learning to what I was doing in my workplace, which made the whole process a little more enjoyable.”
So far, Amanda has enjoyed the baking and pasta units the most. “My trainer and I spent a whole afternoon going over how to make fresh pasta, and we wound up making four different kinds of pasta over a few hours which was really cool. That was probably the best part of the training. I’d learn something new and then make it and find that it actually turned out really well!”
