GOVERNMENT FUNDED PROGRAMS
Through the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET), the State Government aims to work with industry, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), community organisations and communities to not only create more jobs but ensure skills are aligned to these jobs thus ensuring the skilling and upskilling of Queensland’s workforce. To achieve this, each year the department makes available funding to eligible organisations and individuals across the state.
VETiS PROGRAMS
Work Skills Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) program is the delivery of nationally recognised qualifications to school students, providing them with the skills and knowledge required for specific industries. VETiS can be undertaken in years 10, 11, and 12 and can count towards the Queensland Certificate of Education. Work Skills deliver the VETiS program within a collaborative Third Party Arrangement Agreement with a number of Queensland high schools. Training and Assessment services are delivered in a joint partnership between Work Skills and the schools.
