WHAT IS A CAREER IN BUSINESS LIKE?

There’s a lot more to a business qualification than crunching numbers on a spreadsheet. Many people may not know this, but a qualification in the business field can actually open doors for you across a huge variety of fields. There isn’t a profession in the world that doesn’t need strong leaders, market-wise managers and decision makers – and a business qualification from Work Skills will leave you prepared to change the world.

Your average day is highly dependant on what kind of work environment you have – as the skills are so highly transferrable across industries. Cafes, car dealerships, universities – EVERY workplace needs people who understand the fundamentals of what makes a company and it’s staff work smoothly. You could be shaking hands and signing deals in a sales position, spending your morning planning the boss’ schedule and driving them around as a personal assistant, conducting a meeting as a liaison between owners and staff as a manager, or even depositing your home business’ cash at the end of the week.

If none of that resonates with you – don’t despair. Consider stepping outside of the rat race and being your own boss! Whether it’s freelance, contract work or starting your own business – Work Skills business courses are designed to develop the core skills that you will need to succeed.

HOW DO I START A CAREER IN BUSINESS?

The BSB20115 Certificate II in Business and BSB30415 Certificate III in Business Administration are two very accessible starting options offered by Work Skills. These courses can be entered with limited experience in the field and can be treated as a stepping stone towards the speciality of your choice.  If you’re a people person, the BSB40615 Certificate IV in Business Sales will let you take full advantage of your social skills, and turn those weekends spent chatting with your mates into quality work skills used to seal the deal.

IS THERE THE POSSIBILITY OF CAREER ADVANCEMENT?

Yes! The Work Skills business courses are designed specifically so that each course leaves you prepared for the next level above, should you choose to continue. After completing a BSB40215 Certificate IV in Business or similar qualification, you may be eligible to complete the BSB50215 Diploma of Business. A surefire way to leapfrog your way to the top!

For many, completing a qualification in business IS their direct path to a higher position within their company. Through completing a Recognition of Prior Learning assessment, the skills and knowledge you have already acquired in your career can give you a headstart on the road to earning your qualification.
